La découverte est liée à l’Estonie parce que l’un des premiers hommes à avoir vu l’Antarctique en 1820 a été Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen, un marin allemand de la Baltique né à Saaremaa, qui a documenté la découverte. Le dessin représente un voilier. Il porte également les inscriptions «Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen» et «ANTARKTIKA 200», le nom du pays «EESTI» et l’année d’émission «2020». L’anneau extérieur de la pièce représente les douze étoiles du drapeau européen.
