Varieties

In this section, you'll find all the information you need about the different types of Euro coins: photos, detailed descriptions and comparisons, statistics, etc.

Note on A/B brackets

All coins bearing an inscription on the edge generally exist in two forms: coins with edge A and coins with edge B.

The distinction is easy to make: just read under each of the types described in the following pages to see how the "right-angled edge" is defined, and look at how you need to position your part to get the "right-angled" edge.

If you look at your coin with the obverse side up and the edge is right side up, you have an A edge. If you need to have the reverse side up to read the edge right side up, then you have a B edge.
In all circumstances, we always illustrate the obverse on the left and the reverse on the right... So you can't go wrong!
