The 12 stars of the European flag appear on the outer ring of the coin.

Comments The slice is right-side up when the phrase EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT is read right-side up with the heraldic eagle above. The edge is reversed when the phrase EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT is read right side up with the common face above it.
Slice A is when the slice is right side up, with the eagle on top, and Slice B is when the slice is right side up, with the common face on top.
