Representing Collectors

Our society’s large membership gives us a certain influence, especially to the eyes of the various central banks, the ECB and the press.

FFAN / CIN

As a numismatic society, “Les amis de l’Euro” (The friends of the Euro) is a member of the “Fédération Française des Associations Numismatiques” (FFAN) – French Numismatic Societies Federation – so that of the “Commission Internationale de Numismatique” (CIN) – International Numismatic Commission.

Institutions

“Les Amis de l’Euro” (The friends of the Euro) publishes recommendations, opinion pieces and is at the disposal of governmental institutions and the press to respond to their requests and questions. Furthermore, we will not hesitate to defend the rights of collectors wherever and whenever necessary.

European Commission / ECB

“Les amis de l’Euro” (The friends of the Euro) puts forth every year reports and advices to the European Commission, even to the ECB. All our reports are filed in the members-only part of our website.

CEDA

The CEDA prize (CEDA for “Coupure Euro De l’Année” – Euro Item of The Year) is yearly awarded to the institution having issued the most beautiful coin, or banknote, or Euro related item. A vote between the items which have the mostly impressed our membership determines the winner of the prize.

Press

“Les amis de l’Euro” (The friends of the Euro) represents the collectors to the Press for all Euro related action.

Coin fairs or salons

“Les amis de l’Euro” (The friends of the Euro) attend a lot of coin fairs in Europe, in order to make the collection of Euro and our society known.

Projects related to our role in representing collectors:
- develop the internet site’s ‘Press’ section in order to constantly improve our performance in keeping the wider public informed of our activities.
