Providing information

Catalogue

The gathering, recording and publication on the society’s website of the full range of information available on existing Euro coins and banknotes, whether in the form of circulating coins, collectors’ sets, commemorative issues, error coins, varieties, banknotes, or starter kits. This catalogue is updated as frequently as possible, and can be found in the members-only part of the website. The information is passed on by members, foreign contacts, central banks or the European Central Bank.

Countries and documentation

Freely accessible to all website visitors, the “Countries and documentation” section gathers a huge number of data about the different European countries on some key documents, in order to better understand history and day-to-day functioning of the single currency.

The magazine “Bulletin Numismatique”

In line with its goal of providing the public with information, each month “les Amis de l'Euro” (The friends of the Euro) publishes the ‘forum des ADE’ (the Friends of the Euro Forum) in the magazine “Bulletin Numismatique”, this column being a space where data on the Euro is gathered.

The book “€uro”

The book ‘Euro’ is published every 18 to 24 months and contains all relevant information on the Euro.

Finally, we keep the public abreast of developments via the media, through both specialized publications and the wider press.

Among the projects related to the provision of information for our members, you can find:

- a complet section full of free access documentation (press, public information documentation, magazine cuttings...),

- a “News” section,

- the development of an IT system that would enable the catalogue to be updated by several individuals, thus constantly improving the rapidity of updates,

- The use of other European languages, especially English and German, in order to attract a wider European membership.
